The quality of laptops in different classrooms can really affect how well students learn.
If you’re in a classroom and the laptop takes forever to load a page or open a program, it wastes your class time and can make it hard to focus.
No one wants to sit there waiting for a page to load when you could be working. When a laptop isn’t working well, you might get frustrated and lose your concentration.
This can make it harder to learn because you’re more focused on the laptop problem than the lesson. Old laptops, especially ones that have been used for a long time, often have many problems.
They might crash, freeze, or just stop working in the middle of your work. This is stressful, especially if you’re in the middle of a big project or an important lesson.
When the laptop keeps acting up, it distracts you from what you’re supposed to be doing and makes it harder to focus on learning, so a good solution to these laptop problems would be to make sure schools invest in newer laptops that are regularly updated and well-maintained.
WJPS 11th grader Noah Lim said, “In most of my classes I use a laptop, but most of them are old and take a long time to turn on.”
WJPS 11th grader Isabella Cirri said, “I wish I could use my own laptop because some of the laptops don’t work.”
