I’ve got no creative juices in my brain so this is exactly what the song hieroglyphs by oh hellos is about (the first half anyway)

The first lyrics go “stamping your heel along with the drum praying the serpent is underneath one of them” this is takes heavy inspiration from the bible and its said that people act as if we have to crush the serpent ‘the villain” themselves but christ has already done so we have nothing to defeat.

“Instead of a dance with rhythm and beat” the point is to celebrate and live your life instead of trying to find the serpent responsible for our issues.

“Because you been too busy thinking ahead of where we’re all going after we’re dead” the artist are remarking how many biblical teachings lay heavy on life after dead despite the fact its important to live your life out first.
