A new live-action animated Smurfs movie is planned to be released this summer on July 18th. Producers on this new release include Ryan Harris, Rihanna, Laurence “Jay” Brown and Tyran “Ty-Ty” Smith.
The new movie will feature the voices of Rihanna as Smurfette, John Goodman as Papa Smurf, and other stars such as J.P. Karliak, Nick Offerman, Sandra Oh, Xolo Maridueña, Octavia Spencer, and James Corden.
The movie trailer shows that Papa Smurf is kidnapped and Smurfette puts together a rescue team who goes to the real world to rescue Papa Smurf. When they get to the real world, they meet some new characters to help them rescue Papa Smurf.
The movie will also include original songs written by Rihanna. The directors will not be the same from the previous Smurfs movie. The new directors are Chris Millers and Matt Landon.
