New York City Football Club (NYCFC) is a New York team that plays most of its games at Yankee Stadium.
A new stadium will be completed in 2027 and it will be located next to Citi Field. This means that there will be two stadiums across the street from each other.
The New York City Football Club is in its 12th year since it was created. Eight years later, the team won the 2021 MLS World Cup.
WJPS 10th grader Kyriako Zournatzoglou said, “I feel that this stadium will be an amazing addition for the team, but is it really worth the traffic that there will be in that area?”
WJPS 10th grader Alan Gonzalez said, “This new stadium is way closer to where I live so it is easier for me to get to the games.”
This new stadium would mean that NYCFC doesn’t have to switch between Yankee Stadium and Citi Field.
