Every year, WJPS holds Career Day, when guests with various careers come to speak to students about what their jobs are like. Some of these guests are parents, other relatives, or guardians of students, and others are former WJPS students themselves. This year’s Career Day is planned to be on April 11th.
It will take place during periods one through four, with an additional period five for juniors and seniors to meet in small groups with guest speakers for in-depth discussions.
A form was sent out for potential speakers, and WJPS seventh grader Sophia Saldivar shared it with her father. “I sent him the form today and he was going to fill it out after work. He works at Delta and he fixes the planes if there’s an issue with them.”
Additionally, this will be WJPS principal Dr. Bacchus’s first Career Day at the school. She said, “I am excited to see how our students will interact and the types of questions they ask to our presenters. I’m also excited to see which areas our students are interested in going into.”
