The boys varsity baseball season started up again at Francis Lewis High School, and the team began with three straight wins.
WJPS 12th grader John Mihalios, who is a member of the team, stated, “I have a lot of faith in this team. We are talented and we work well together and try to win games.”
Francis Lewis still has to play on another field due to the original field being re-done. Home games are played in Padavan-Preller Park.
WJPS 12th grader Jordan Juarez, another member of the team said, “The team is great this year. We have a lot of good players that positively impact this team. I have high expectations for this season.”
This year the team plays 14 regular season games. In the division there are four total teams. The top two teams go to the state playoffs.
Last year the team went 5-9 in their regular season, and got into the second round of the statewide playoffs losing to the Inwood campus.
