According to August Berres, a technology website, 94% of high school students use a laptop, and 74% of K-8 students do for at least part of their education. This is true in WJPS where there are laptop carts in most of the classrooms.
Some students bring their personal laptops to school for a more efficient and smooth experience to help access online resources. Amongst all the laptops that students own, MacBooks are the most efficient and reliable laptop in the market.
Compared to school laptops which are primarily Chromebooks, MacBooks are more portable, reliable, and shorten the amount of time people spend waiting for their computers to open and having to sign in. They also offer a sleek design, as well as a light, thin design which contributes to the portability of the laptop.
WJPS 12th grader Jane Castrejon said, “I personally use my own Chromebook. I wanted something functional and affordable. Since our school relies on Google apps, it works really well for me.”
WJPS 12th grader Ishal Ahmad stated, “I think a MacBook is the best device for high school and college because they are easy to use and work well with most college websites.”
Although MacBooks are more expensive than Chromebooks they are a great investment because of the longevity they offer to the user.
