In December NetEase Games, a game developing company, released to the public a game called “Marvel Rivals”, a hero team based shooter video game based on the Marvel Intellectual Property..
Earlier last year, the game had a playtest lasting for ten days in which people with a certain access code could play. The playtest was made to try to find and fix able glitches/bugs within the game.
The game has 33 different playable characters, including both villains and heroes from the Marvel franchise. The game is available on PS5, Xbox series X/S, and PC.
The game is free on all consoles with all characters being available from launch, meaning you do not have to pay/play the game to unlock other characters.
WJPS 12th grader Preston Ng stated, “I enjoy the combat of the game. It reminds me of Overwatch, but just a more optimized and more fun version of the game made by caring developers. It is definitely one of my favorite games currently.”
WJPS 12th grader Jane Castrejon stated, “I don’t play video games much but I like playing with my friends. I don’t like marvel either, but the game itself is fun and easy to play and understand.”
