Two-way players have been gaining popularity in baseball and college football, with the athletes, Shohei Ohtani and Travis Hunter.
Having the ability to play both sides for a professional sport has not been common over the past generations.
Ohtani won his first World Series title this year as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Yankees.
Hunter won the Heisman Trophy, the top individual honor for a college football player, as a wide receiver and a cornerback.
WJPS 11th Grader, Anthony Canale said, “It’s very impressive being a ‘two-way’ player and being this dominant in this day and age playing this well.”
WJPS 11th Grader, Noah Lim said, “Seeing Travis Hunter all over social media, watching his crazy defense, and his crazy catches on offense. I really think he can be the first ‘two way’ player in the NFL if he wants to.”
