Samantha Almonte is a member of the Francis Lewis High School cheerleading team.
She is also the only WJPS student who is on the team.
Almonte practices Tuesday through Thursday for Francis Lewis, and practices on Saturday at Hofstra University for extra training.
Her best experience in cheer was when she qualified for a regional competition.
WJPS 11th grader, Almonte said, “Before I cheered, I danced for eight years along with gymnastics, and those years made me a better athlete with cheer.”
Francis Lewis High School cheer coach, Ms. Allen said, “Samantha joined this team last year and has made a great audition to our varsity team. You can tell she’s a dedicated athlete to this team and has a very high energy.”
