In August of this year, Disney announced a sequel to the Toy Story movies. It’s official: Toy Story 5 will be released in June of 2026.
Tom Hanks will continue to be the voice Woody, as well as Tim Allen who will be returning to play as Buzz Lightyear.
The new director for Toy Story 5 will be Andrew Stanton, along with co-director McKenna Harris and producer Jessica Choi.
The first Toy Story movie was released in 1995 and made over 370 million dollars.
WJPS teacher Ms. Flanigan said, “It’s exciting to see the story continue, though I hope it adds something meaningful to the series without overshadowing the earlier films.”
