While stressing over academics, SAT’s, and college plans, juniors should be able to enjoy their year before entering the last year of high school.
The idea of a junior dance or trip can help students make new memories and socialize with their peers.
A field trip for juniors would allow students to engage with each other and to explore things outside of school with their friends.
WJPS 11th grader Bella Cirri said, “I think a dance would definitely benefit the junior grade; we would have a night to be free and all have fun while under all of that stress. If we were able to plan a dance or trip together, it would give us an opportunity to enjoy our high school experience just a little more.”
WJPS 11th grader Markella Georgiou said, “Obviously it depends on where the trip is, but having a field trip would be better than being inside with sweaty kids. Also, people would actually attend a trip rather than taking time out of their day for a dance.”
Juniors should be given the opportunity for more fun activities just like the seniors. A solution would be to set an anonymous poll allowing juniors only to decide whether they should have a dance or a trip.
