On October 11th, DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO released globally after nearly six years in development. Sparking! ZERO is an anime fighting/adventure game based on the Dragon Ball series, and was published by Bandai NAMCO.
The game has three confirmed downloadable content(DLCs) currently in development to release within the first half of 2025.
The game includes a storyline with 14 different missions. Some missions contain “what if” storylines which showcase what could have happened if some things in the game were slightly altered.
Sparking! ZERO also has several different multiplayer modes: custom battle, battle mode, ranked match and tournament mode. The multiplayer modes do not include crossplay between consoles.
The game contains 182 total playable characters with several of them needing to be unlocked to play.
WJPS 12th grader Rixiery Montoya said,“Dragon Ball has always been a series that I have loved near and dear to my heart. The game itself is like reliving the Manga and Anime, and it contains many elements that I enjoy that other DB games don’t have.“
WJPS 12th grader Jordan Juarez said, “The game is really interactive and fun and just a big improvement from the other games they released.”
