The World Journalism Preparatory School school store sells snacks and drinks to all students during lunch periods four and seven.
The price of most products is one dollar. There is a variety of food and drinks to choose from.
WJPS paraprofessional Mr. Sharma said, “I am head of the school store and I sell snacks and drinks to the students. I am in the lunchroom every day.”
WJPS 12th grader Darin Schachter said, “I don’t go to lunch as much anymore because I leave early, but I always love buying a Takis bag or a Sunny D drink.”
WJPS guidance counselor Mr. Lumetta said, “We have had the school store in lunchrooms for such a long time that I forgot when it originally started but it works so well and Mr. Sharma does a great job.”
Originally, the school store was in the basement hallway, but now it has been moved inside the cafeteria to prevent overcrowding.
