Throughout the years, there have been many movies based on books. For instance, “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” by Jeff Kinney, “The Hungry Games” by Suzanne Collins to name a few.
Along with the many book to movie adaptations, there have also been many mixed reviews about them. According to CBS News, they state that in a survey done in 2022, 67% of people said that they preferred the book “Nothing Lasts Forever” over its movie adaptation, “Die Hard.”
Why do people prefer the book more than the movie? Does everyone feel the same way?
WJPS 12th grader, Rixiery Montoya said, “Movie renditions can sometimes be good, but sometimes bad. The main thing is that sometimes the movie does not follow the books. A great example is Harry Potter, as some of the characters were changed or even removed in the movie making big changes.”
WJPS 10th grader, Evan Carvajal said, “I prefer movie adaptations. I don’t like reading, it’s boring.”
