AIin the educational space has recently become popular. AI is a tool used to benefit students and help them and their work. However when AI is used, it is considered plagiarism.
AI can be used to write essays as well as newspaper articles.
Currently, ChatGPT has the most site visits, more than three billion, making it the most popular AI tool.
WJPS principal Mr. Yarmy says that “I think when the tech for calculators came out, math teachers would be fearful of them. The fear has been removed and calculators have benefitted them as well as students. I am hoping the experience with AI in literature will be the same.”
WJPS teacher Ms. Mills says that “I dont think it’s bad if it’s used properly. For [AP] seminar we use it for generating ideas to understand text better. The only thing I don’t like about AI is generating something original pretending it is yours. I’m not ok with using AI to grade papers because it will not be able to detect human elements in writing and it would make people write more robotically.”
