Schedules were given out to WJPS students on the first day of school. Some students were unhappy with their schedule either because they didn’t get into AP classes or because they had too many AP classes and it’s overwhelming for them.
Many students saw their schedules during summer break and emailed Mr. Lumetta and Mr. Petrotta for schedule changes.
Some students have also had their schedules changed due to rooms passing the capacity of students.
Mr. Lumetta is the one in charge of the schedules and making changes to students’ schedules if there is a problem.
WJPS 10th grader Aaiza Shahzad said, “Mr. Lumetta put me with ninth graders. I’m okay with it now but I’m with people I don’t really communicate with.” She also expressed that she was upset and felt alone in the beginning.
WJPS guidance counselor, Mr. Lumetta said, “If students ask in a timely manner I’m more than happy to do it. We put up a sheet over the summer, I review the sheet and I make changes.”
Prior to the school year, Mr. Lumetta makes changes if students request it. He also stated, “During the school year students want the same classes but only 34 students are allowed per class. If their classes change then they have to change all of their classes and students don’t want that.”
