On August 9th, Catherine Middleton, Princess of Wales announced her completion of chemotherapy less than seven months after her announcement. Her announcement was made in the form of a home-style video with her husband, William, Prince of Wales, and three children: George, Charlotte, and Louis.
According to People.com, She stated, “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment…The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
The royal family can be seen in the video laughing and hugging while enjoying a picnic and playing on the beach.
After undergoing what the palace called “planned abdominal surgery” in January, a pre-operative test diagnosed the Princess with cancer. On March 22nd, Princess Kate publicly announced her cancer diagnosis.
WJPS 9th grader, Jayden Munoz said, “Honestly I feel bad for her, but I’m glad she can be with her family.”
WJPS paraprofessional, Ms. Nikki said, “I think it was brave of her to share her journey and commend her on finishing it. Shows that science works and to have hope in science.”
