As the school year starts across the country the FitnessGram takes place in the first couple weeks. These exercises test your body and strengths.
The FitnessGram contains the tests progressive, aerobic, cardiorespiratory, endurance, run(PACER), curl up, trunk lift, and push ups.
According to North Shore Therapy, this is required for all students across the country because it gives understanding to teachers, students, and parents about their level of performance. Everyone has two attempts in order to achieve their goal number in PACER. It is 47 laps for boys and 32 for girls.
WJPS teacher Mr. Maroney said, “I think it’s good because it gives students an idea of where they are mentally and physically.”
WJPS 12th grader John Mihalios stated, “I feel that it’s necessary and unnecessary at the same time because it does test your fitness levels, but many people act like they don’t care and dont take it seriously.”
