A new Wizard of Oz precinct, which is an area in an amusement park, joins the Warner Brothers Movie World in 2024.
With Movie World being located in Oxenford Australia, this precinct is set to replace the previous Arkham Asylum area in hopes of making a more family-friendly space. This family-friendly precinct has low height restrictions and low age limits.
Two new family-friendly rides are expected to debut in this precinct, the Kansas Twister and the Flight of the Wicked Witch. The Kansas Twister is a boomerang racer ride while the Flight of the Wicked Witch is a suspended family coaster.
WJPS 11th grader Vanessa Kalemi said, “I’ve heard of the Wizard of Oz movie, but I didn’t know there was an amusement park with an area for them.“
WJPS 11th grader Liam Castaneda said, “I’ve seen a few images of the new area. It seems like a nice place to visit, but I would rather go to a closer amusement park like Disney World or Universal Studios. I wouldn’t go all the way to Australia just for an amusement park.”
