The Grammy Awards take place February 4th in Los Angeles. Ever since its creation in 1959, it has rewarded multiple artists, producers, and songwriters’ achievements in the music industry.
The Grammy award itself imitates a gold-plated gramophone, also known as a phonograph or a record player.
The record for the most grammys won is held by Beyonce with a total of 32 grammys won and 88 nominations in the process.
The staple categories for the Grammy Awards are Album of the year, Song of the year, Record of the year, and Best New Artist. This year, many artists have been nominated, such as Lana Del Rey, SZA, Taylor Swift, and Janelle Monae.
WJPS 11th grader, Lilah Freeman, said, “ I hope that SZA wins a grammy with SOS. I think it was a good album. I hope the other nominations do well too. “
WJPS 10th grader, Natalie Ramirez, said, “ I don’t know most of the Grammy nominations, but I occasionally watch the Grammys from time to time. “
