The Francis Lewis girls soccer team has won their most recent game 8-1 against John Adams High School. They are currently undefeated 5-0, placing them at the top of their division.
Francis Lewis has won their past three games all with eight goals, two of which being 8-0; one against Hillcrest, and the other against Flushing.
Their upcoming match is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th against Cardozo High School.
Last season, the team remained undefeated at 8-0 in the regular season, being able to reach the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
The partnership between FLHS and WJPS presents the opportunity for WJPS high school students to participate in a wide variety of sports, which they normally wouldn’t be able to do at WJPS.
There are several WJPS seniors on the girl’s soccer team roster. These players include Valentina Ortiz, Valentina Londono, and Julissa Quintanilla.
WJPS senior, Demian Kwon said, “They don’t seem to have a challenge right now, so I have to say they’re pretty good.”
WJPS senior, Alejandro Ortiz said, “I absolutely think that they deserve to be undefeated right now, and I think they’ll continue for the rest of the season.”
