Are you using TikTok or swiping through reels on Instagram?
Instagram Reels are just old TikToks from months ago and it’s difficult to understand why people watch them when you can just go on TikTok.
TikTok is an app where you can create short videos with your friends or just watch and learn different things like hairstyles and dances.
Instagram Reels are a feature that allow you to film a video up to 60 seconds that you can edit and add effects too. These videos are meant for people to publish creative posts, show off their personality or to have fun in general.
Reels aren’t like posting a story because when you post on your story, it’s only for your followers to view, while on the other hand, reels are public so anyone can see.
Instagram is used for people to post content they want to share with others, mainly close friends.
WJPS senior, Andrea Nunez, said “I like TikTok better because it’s the original platform where reels come from so why not go on the original app. Reels are more millennial.”
Thomas Aiello, another WJPS senior, stated “TikTok because I get more variety where, with reels, I see the same type of videos.”
TikTok is known for short videos, so why not just use that?
