AP Macroeconomics, or AP Macro for short, is an advanced placement class which is taught by Mr. Megani at WJPS. AP classes are college level classes that offer students the chance to earn college credit before they go to college.
This class is a higher level course compared to its contemporary class, Economics/Government.
WJPS senior Joseph Vega stated, “I would recommend this class. This class has taught me a lot about these countries’ economic policies.”
In AP Macro, students learn about business cycles, the history of money, opportunity costs and many more topics which all lead up to their AP test in May. Unlike AP Macro, Economics transitions into Government at the end of the first term. It also has a more general focus on personal finance like taxes, work forums, credit and loans.
Mr. Mengani, WJPS teacher, responded, “Economics is the study of choice under conditions of scarcity. Macroeconomics focuses on studying the statistics and mechanisms that drive the overall system for producing and distributing goods and services within nations.”
