Don’t you want just a day off from school and all the stress from work? The school should allow students to take mental health days without being penalized in attendance.
This can greatly benefit students in improving their school work and performance. Mental health days would allow students time to focus on themselves, rest, and rejuvenate their energy for their school work instead of working non-stop.
WJPS senior, Anthony Cina said, “I think it’s worth it, because half of the students are stressed over colleges, life choices, and consequences.”
WJPS senior, Lauren Conte said, “I know myself and I just need to take one day out of the week. I know everybody isn’t the same, but everyone deserves a day off.”
Ms. Muriel WJPS student aide for the guidance office said, “I wouldn’t say that we need a day off, we need to gather students, provide information, do group activities, and have safe talks.”
A solution for this problem would be to have a positive discussion between students, staff and the school administration on allowing mental health days for students.
