If you ever walk out into the WJPS large school yard you might notice a makeshift concrete baseball field.
The school has access to a concrete baseball field in the school yard, but has never taken advantage of it. Having a baseball team would not only benefit the students, but the school can make a name for itself in terms of sports.
WJPS junior Niko Zournatzoglou proclaimed, “Yes, they should because we need more sports programs for those who want to participate.”
The field can mainly be used for practices since it is on hard ground, but the school should be able to make arrangements with public and private fields.
A baseball team could also increase the amount of kids getting accepted on baseball scholarships.
WJPS physical education teacher Ms. Smith claimed, “If we have the space and the interest I think it would be nice to have a sports team of our own.”
If the school can raise the funds before next spring, WJPS can have a baseball team.
