There is one day that high school seniors share all over the country and that is National Decision Day. On May 1st, many seniors decide and display the college they choose to attend.
Usually, an enrollment deposit has to be given to the college, ranging from $50 to $500, and in some cases it can be waived.
Colleges also give a summary of all the expenses and scholarships, and this is usually personalized for each student, displaying the overall costs for each year or semester.
What do WJPS seniors have to say about this day?
Sayed Shah said, “I’m kind of sure of my decision because it’s the future, I don’t know who I’ll become, I just have an idea of what I’m going to do.”
Nicole Freyeisen said, “I’m stressed, and I’m scared that I’m going to second guess myself, but at the end [of the college process] you start to become an adult.”
Ultimately, it is a deadline given to all seniors every year, and as Shah added “the unknown is scary, but you have to cheer your life up.”
