Local Spring Break

Local+Spring+Break

Spring break is approaching, and many students are looking forward to doing activities with their friends and family.

The weather is gradually rising, and by the time spring break starts, it should be warm enough to engage in outdoor activities.

Here are some fun outdoor activities in the area to check out:

  • Visit the Queens Botanical Garden to explore nature and view the spring plants and flowers
  • Catch a good movie at AMC Theaters in Bay Terrace, Bayside
  • Get a breath of fresh air at Flushing Meadows Park
  • See the New York Hall of Science

Flushing Meadows-Corona Park also holds the Unisphere for those who want to see it. In addition, baseball fans can catch a Mets game at Citi Field, near Flushing Meadows Park.

Rockaway Beach is also an excellent place to get away and relax. Families can walk on the boardwalk or swim in the ocean if it is warm enough.

For those who want to hike, Central Park has a nice hiking trail that goes directly through the park.

According to Ms. Paplow, guidance counselor at WJPS, “I think spring break is a great time to explore NYC because the weather is usually warm. You can do things like visit the Central Park Zoo, walk around Bryant Park and maybe take in a Broadway show.”

Families who like animals can have nice animal encounters at the Central Park Zoo.

According to Ms. Bonnani, WJPS teacher, “I’m bringing my son to Central Park Zoo. He has never been to a zoo before.”

Whatever you decide to do for spring break, you should do something fun and engaging.
