It’s Time for Ramadan

Its+Time+for+Ramadan

Ramadan is a month-long religious festival embraced by Muslims as a time of self-reflection and spiritual growth. Fasting, praying, and being with loved ones are all a part of the holy festival.

The Ramadan fast lasts for the entire month, 29 or 30 days, depending on the moon’s appearance. The lunar cycle dictates Ramadan, which begins and ends with a crescent moon.

WJPS senior Sayed Shah, said, “I feel that it can be difficult for the first few days, yet, it tends to get easier as time goes on. Once the 30 days are up, we celebrate Eid and do things like go to each other’s houses while wearing very fashionable new or clean clothes.”

The completion of Ramadan is marked by the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which commemorates the end of Ramadan’s month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting. It is then observed over the first three days of Shawwal, the Islamic calendar’s tenth month.

WJPS freshman Madina Madhriqr said she celebrates with her family every year. “We get together as a family and break our fast as a family. Spending Eid with my family is quite exciting as we also make prayers to give everybody health.”
