Traditional Way of Testing

Traditional+Way+of+Testing

After a fully digital exam in 2020 and multiple testing options in 2021, the College Board will revert to the paper-based exam format in 2022 for Advancement Placement (AP) exams.

According to the New York City Department of Educations, AP exams will take place from May 2nd to May 13th and there are no plans to offer a digital testing option like last year.

AP exams are college level exams that get scored on a five point scale, with a minimum score of one and a maximum score of five.

Many colleges and universities will accept scores that are above a three or four as college credits.

WJPS junior Alana Azad said, “I think the return to paper form can be beneficial since many students did try to cheat online. However, it may be more beneficial to take the tests online, considering most students did very well online, and it was easier for them to do so.”

Another junior, Sonya Woodham said, “I think the return to paper form should be supported. The reason being is that there could be several problems such as Internet problems, cheating and maybe even website crashes. With paper, none of that would happen, and the process would be easier.”
