Online learning was first introduced to students on March 11th, 2020. Students were granted the option to attend remote learning instead of physically going into the school building. Since the return to the school building, some schools have been considering continuing the option of online learning in case of another COVID-19 outbreak.
WJPS Assistant Principal Mr. Petrotta stated, “If there ever was an online option, we would more than likely be using Google Meet or Zoom as we did in previous years of remote learning. It would be synchronous learning.”
Synchronous learning is when all students and instructors are all at the same pace on a live online session. In the meantime, students that qualify or need extra support would be working in small groups.
Valentina Londono, WJPS sophomore stated, “No I would not be interested in a full online course instead of going to school because when I’m online I don’t focus, so I can’t function enough to do my work.”
