Paper bathroom passes are effective because being able to dispose of them once they are done being used helps with prevent the spread of bacteria and hopefully can stop the increase of COVID-19.
Ever since the return of in person school the mandate of disposable paper bathroom passes has been implemented.
Every teacher has to give students a paper bathroom pass with the teacher name and period on it be able to leave the room. However, this causes many teachers to have to stop the class they are teaching to write a student a pass and it can lead to a waste of paper and time.
Despite that, the benefits outweigh the nuisances.
Ms. Kontos, a WJPS teacher said, “Having the bathroom passes is efficient with not contracting COVID-19 because right when students use the passes they dispose of them right away.”
WJPS teacher Ms Patritti said, “Since teachers don’t have to touch the same pass that hundreds of students also hold, drop, and leave everywhere, it is unlikely for bacteria to spread throughout the school, and amongst students and staff.”
