Now that the weather is getting colder, the viability of the heating system at WJPS has never been more of a precedent matter than it is now. Some students have been getting sick and are now preparing for the winter that is soon approaching.
Students have been walking around with thick sweaters and jackets due to the heating systems not being turned on, and many of the classrooms are freezing cold since cold air has been coming in through the vents.
Christina Merlino, a junior at WJPS stated, “The classrooms have been so cold lately.”
David Figueroa, a sixth grader at WJPS said, “It gets really cold and cold weather makes people sleepy and hot temperatures is way better for the learning environment especially during the cold.”
It would be best if the heating systems were turned on now so students won’t have to be cold during their classes. This would also decrease the worries about getting sick as well as having to wear many layers of clothing throughout the day. Wearing fewer layers of clothing means being able to move around comfortably, and having the heaters on means we won’t have to be shivering throughout the day anymore.
