After being in remote learning for over a year, this year’s senior class should be especially excited to be back in person. Will this school year live up to our expectations? 

Student government President Katerina Pappas and Vice President Isabella Torres have expressed concern over their class’ involvement in the senior events. They fear that seniors are just waiting for things to happen instead of planning it themselves. 

The essence of student government is that we have the ability to make things happen the way they want them to happen. If students aren’t active and involved, nothing will happen. 

The students on the senior committee have struggled with creating viable and feasible ideas that don’t violate COVID-19 regulations. It seems almost impossible.  

Being on the committee myself, I experience first-hand the frustrations of attempting to plan and execute memorable events for the rest of my class. 

WJPS needs more action from the seniors to have a fun memorable comeback from remote learning and an overall great conclusion to our high school career.
