The increasing amount of electric light vehicles provides a new transportation method. These micro electric vehicles consist of electric scooters, bikes, unicycles, and skateboards.
It includes travel friendly and lightweight options weighing at 15 pounds. The micro vehicles do not have built in security, but are compatible with bike locks.
These vehicles come in different varieties where they have distinct sizes and colors. The vehicle prices can range from $500 to $5,000.
“It depends on what kind of vehicle you’re talking about, because there are a variety of vehicles such as mini electric scooters and bikes to electric cars. I believe the price would be reasonable for these types of vehicles,” said WJPS junior, Diego Hernandez.
Rental for these vehicles can reach up to $25 an hour in New York. The price for a rental electric scooter in New York can be upwards of $95 for 24 hours.
“The rental of the vehicles can get pricey and does not seem worth the price. If they can be stolen as they are lightweight, it would be more of a liability than an advantage,” commented WJPS junior, Skyy Williams.
