Pixar has chosen Chris Evans, famous for his role as Captain America in the MCU, to play Buzz Lightyear in their upcoming movie.
In a recent Instagram post, Evans said, “working with Pixar is a dream come true.” Evans then went on to tell fans to get excited about the new movie. The movie will be released in the summer of 2022.
Sayed Shah, a junior at WJPS, said, “Chris is an amazing actor for Captain America, a character with lots of similarities to Buzz Lightyear. Overall, he will slay this role in my eyes.”
“Chris Evans is a great actor with an amazing reputation with his movies over the years, so this seems like a good change of pace for the movies,” said Nick Martinez, another WJPS junior.
The movie ‘Lightyear’ will be the origin story of Buzz Lightyear, who made his debut in 1995’s ‘Toy Story.’ Originally voiced by Tim Allen, some fans are surprised to see that Evans was chosen to fill the role.
