Self-Isolating at Home? Here are Four Activities to Keep Yourself Busy

Self-Isolating+at+Home%3F+Here+are+Four+Activities+to+Keep+Yourself+Busy

With the recent global surge of the novel corona virus cases, it is our top priority to practice social distancing at home in order to slow the spread of the pandemic. For those who find themselves in a state of boredom while staying at home, they may consider the following activities as a way to keep occupied.

  1. Exercise

All gyms are temporarily closed in this unprecedented time, which may prompt some to do at-home exercises. Whether it’s following a full body cardio workout on YouTube or learning a new Tik Tok dance, there’s many options to consider when choosing an exercise that will trigger endorphin release, stimulating a much-needed positive emotion.

2. Bake/Cook Using a New Recipe

Now is the time to practice a new skill, and what better way than to indulge in a freshly cooked or baked homemade meal? To avoid leaving your house, cook your favorite dishes or bake different foods with a new recipe. I recently learned to bake bread, and it is delicious.

3. DIY Face Masks

Before leaving your house, consider choosing from the large array of mask-making tutorials to create your own original face mask. This will show your creativity while participating in the national effort to stop the virus’ spread.

4. Check in on Others

At such a time of uncertainty, it is crucial that we make an effort to consistently contact family, friends, and neighbors via texting, calling, e-mailing, or any other long-distance communication method.
