“!@#$%&* This!”

“!@#$%&* This!”

Cursing has become an everyday language and some WJPS students are so used to saying them during school hours or even outside of school property; hearing someone curse in the school wouldn’t be much of a surprise.

Teachers would tell us to watch out for the way we talk, but at this point, I feel that not many people care so much about the way their language is being used. Many students use it as a joke, or in a serious matter when they are mad or annoyed.

Although cursing hasn’t lost its importance; the restriction on using it with professional figures is what makes it appealing. However, cursing during school hours should be when it’s during your lunch break and not during class.

Some people curse in order to get a point across and to make their statement more impactful. I don’t curse excessively; however, when I curse in English, I tend to use it when I am trying to defend my argument in a fight, when I am joking around aggressively with my close friends, and when I compliment them. Cursing isn’t always necessarily used in an unpleasant situation. It is also used in greetings and compliments.
