Every day people in New York City use the subway as a daily transportation device in order to get to their destinations in a short amount of time.
However, some riders have displayed acts of moving between cars while the train is operating. This practice is highly dangerous and could result in a horrific accident while the train is moving at a fast rate, especially when the train is moving through a tunnel or over a bridge. Even though it’s illegal, people still persist on moving between cars.
“I think people who move between cars, they know what they’re doing, they know the risks, so it shouldn’t be illlegal because they’re doing it involuntarily,” said WJPS junior Melanie Martinez.
Others believe it should be against the law.
“Yes, because it’s highly dangerous and people could get killed,” said WJPS junior David Montanez.
There’s no doubt that riders moving between cars should be cautioned because there’s a high risk of hurting yourself or, even worse, getting yourself killed.
