WJPS junior and Francis Lewis basketball player, Andrea Vicente is currently injured with an ACL tear and an MCL injury. 

She is scheduled to be back playing in July after getting surgery and six months of physical therapy. She will have to wear a brace for a year while playing.

However, this injury does not stop her from helping out the team during practice and games. 

Vicente said, “In practice I do form shooting, dribbling, learn the plays and keep track of the shots missed and then the team runs. I also time the running. For example, the girls have to get own and back the court in 10 seconds, I also do books which records the points scored, time outs and fouls during the games. I have everyday practice from three to five and game days I have to be at Francis Lewis at four and come back around eight.” 

Vicente also said, “I feel like just having a positive attitude is what keeps me going since I am going to be out for so long I just have to keep thinking I will be back for the senior season.”
