It was a great week and a half break, even if Netflix and Doritos were your best friend for the most part, but January means back to school and studying for the next few weeks. Simply put, you’re just not ready to deal with classes and deadlines again, and that’s okay. Adjusting back to classes is rarely ever easy for anyone.
WJPS freshman Jared Bencosme said, “After the hype of the holidays, back to school can be hard. Santa did create a lot of excitement and we sure made the most out of it, but now we are feeling a little blue. We want more days off, and are dragging our feet.”
Here are some tips for getting rid of the post-winter break blues:
Make an effort to go out. It’s January and snuggling up with hot chocolate indoors can feel very tempting, but also be sure to leave the room once in a while and see what’s happening around you.
Set goals for yourself. Where do you want to be in two weeks? In one month? By spring break? These don’t have to be long term goals, and they also don’t have to be school-related.
Plan a special activity or event to look forward to – classroom activities, field trips, or a contest.
