Myles Garrett’s Fight and Consequences

Myles Garretts Fight and Consequences

Myles Garrett should certainly not return for another regular or postseason game for the rest of this season and the next one, given his past behavior.

Garrett has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL for his role in the fight at the Steelers v.s. Browns game last month. During the fight he swung a helmet at Pittsburgh quarterback Mason Rudolph hitting him on the head more than once.

If something like that happened off the field, Garrett would be arrested and would be facing some serious charges.

The fact that Garrett is suspended indefinitely gives the NFL full control over when they choose to allow his return.

This is not the first time Garrrett has been in trouble with the league. He was also fined $42,000 for roughing the passer penalties in September 2019. However, I don’t believe he should be thrown out of the league permanently, as many demand.

This incident hurt both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns along with the players involved and the league’s image.

Garrett later accused Rudolph of using a racial slur that caused the fight to begin.

The bottom line: Garrett should not be on an NFL field until at least 2021 because what he did to Rudolph was the most serious offense in recent history.
