The temperature is dropping and it’s becoming colder and colder each day. It’s important to dress properly for the winter.
The coldest day so far was 23 degrees with strong winds. WJPS has had a few rooms with barely any heat on.
Students have been running for their jackets, sneezing, coughing, and freezing. You would expect that you would be warm once you walk into school, wrong!
One day the heat turned on. Although the warmth was nice, it was too much. It felt like a sauna causing students to suffer.
After a few days of dysfunctional heat stability, the school was back to normal. Luckily, WJPS students felt comfortable to be inside from the cold.
“We have a new custodial engineer this year. His name is Steve and he’s working hard to make sure that our classrooms are comfortable. He is sending his workers to additional classes on heating and cooling. It takes a while for a custodian to understand how a building heats and cools, as I understand it. Hopefully, we won’t run into this type of issue again,” said WJPS assistant principal, Mr. Petrotta.
“To be honest, I don’t really feel anything now the past days, it’s just the weather and it is just regular temperature to me now at least,” said Yao Yao Huang WJPS 9th grader.
