Virtual reality is a simulation experience that can be similar or completely different from the real world. Application of virtual reality can include entertainment and educational purposes.
Today, virtual reality is usually applied using computer technology. There are a range of systems that are used for this purpose such as headsets, omni-directional treadmills and special gloves.
This equipment is used to actually stimulate our senses together in order to create the illusion of reality. Virtual reality can lead to new and exciting discoveries which can impact upon our everyday lives.
11th grader at WJPS Sasha Romero said, “It feels weird at first, but when you actually spend time on, it is fun.”
There are many different types of virtual reality systems, but they all share the same characteristics. They all have the ability to allow the person to view three-dimensional images and these images appear life sized.
WJPS 12th grader Daniel Ian said, “It’s nice and innovative. I think it’s a really new form of interactive technology revolving around video games.”
