Overwatch was recently released for the Nintendo Switch. It is a direct port of the game, which means that it is identical outside of the fact that the game servers run on the Switch.
Blizzard, the company that developed Overwatch, has been showing a great deal of interest in getting Overwatch onto the Switch for many months now, and are now advertising the project towards people who want to casually play the game to do so on the go.
World Journalism Preparatory School senior Daniel Ian said, “It’s a pretty cool idea, I just doubt the Switch can actually run the game at a respectable frame rate and resolution. Typically, the Switch is meant to run less intensive games.”
Now that the game is on the Switch, Blizzard has been showing interest in getting one of their characters into the popular Nintendo platform fighter game Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
However, WJPS senior Ryan Keane says, “I really don’t think an Overwatch rep is ever going to get into Smash. The game really isn’t the best of the best.”
