Alphadream, a video game developer most famous for making the Mario and Luigi games has recently declared bankruptcy.
The company first formed in the early 90s originally going by the name Dream Star to make Role-playing Games (RPGs) starting with, Koto Battle: Tengai no Moribito on the Gameboy Advance.
Dream Star quickly grew with the release of one of the biggest and very first Mario RPG games, Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga for the Game Boy Advance. This was AlphaDream’s third highest selling Mario and Luigi game that sold more than two million copies worldwide.
However, the remake of Superstar Saga did not sell as well as the original, only selling for about less than half the original game.
At this time due to the financial circumstances, another Mario and Luigi remake has not been announced, leaving Mario and Luigi Partners in Time the Only Mario and Luigi game without the remake treatment the other games have received.
