Persona the classic JRPG (Japanese Role-Playing Game) spinoff of the Shin Megami Tensei series is receiving a remaster and expansion of its sixth installment, Persona 5, known as Persona 5 Royal that releases on October 31st in Japan and Spring 2020 in North America.
Persona 5 follows Ren Amamiya, an ordinary high schooler by day and a Phantom Thief, (a vigilante that fights in a cognitive realm known as the Metaverse) at night. He operates in a group with several of his peers, that go by “the Phantom Thieves”, with a mission to change the hearts of the “corrupt” by traveling into a private part of the metaverse known as a “Palace” which is the product of a person’s distorted desires. Together they will reform society by fighting for those who can’t fight for themselves.
Along with the game, a limited edition p5r themed ps4 has been announced in Japan for 40,000¥ (370 USD).
Details of the games story expansion, increased social interactions between characters, overall gameplay mechanics, UI (user interface) and many other additions that are being released week by week as the release date draws near. Trailers and more exclusive gameplay is also to come in the following week.
