Brooklyn Nets were on fire against the San Antonio Spurs on December 3rd, Mirza Teletovic was the key player in the night. He hustled, grabbing 15 boards and recorded his first “double double” this season. Teletovic shot 26 shots and averaged a solid 69% on the court, and 71% from the three point line.
Another key player was Center Brook Lopez who got 16 points and 15 rebounds. The Nets were key with their shooting, averaging 41%. The Nets were close to winning it all during the fourth quarter until Spurs shooting guard Danny Green shot a 3 pointer with 2 seconds left on the clock.
Heading into overtime, Nets were leading 95-93, with 4 seconds on the clock Manu Ginobili missed the 3 point shot, backup point guard Cory Joseph from the Spurs tried to grab offensive board over Lopez but missed and tried to dived for the ball with Lopez. This lead to officials calling a jump ball with 0.02 seconds on the clock, Lopez won the tip off, and the game. The Nets were able to defeat the 2014 champions.
“I saw the game, I thought they were going to win in the 4th quarter so I left early, I really thought it wouldn’t head into overtime, however [it was a] great win for the Nets,” senior Jacob Godoy said.
