Welcome to the Graveyard Shift

No storm can postpone a trip to the graveyard and the crowds in Huntington, New York proved this.

On Friday, March 2, 2018, Gothic Metal band Motionless in White along with Like Moths to Flames, Ice Nine Kills, and Ever Time I Die, showed New York what the graveyard shift was all about.

Doors opened to The Paramount at 6pm and you were immediately immersed in the show, speakers around the door blasted songs written by Motionless in White, from their debut album Creatures to their newest album Graveyard Shift.

Like Moths to Flames @ The Paramount, March 2nd, 2018

At 7pm  Metalcore band Like Moths to Flames from Columbus, Ohio hit the stage. The the band is made up of Chris Roetter (vocals), Aaron Evans(bass), Greg Diamond(drums), Jeremy Smith(lead guitar), and Zach Pishney(rhythm guitar). Their setlist included songs like “New Plagues” , “I Solemnly Swear”, “Dark Divine”, and “GNF”. Their set was pure high energy and full of life.

 

Ice Nine Kills @ The Paramount, March 2nd, 2018

Next up was Metalcore band Ice Nine Kills from Boston, Massachusetts. Members included Spencer  Charnas(lead vocals), Justin DeBlieck (co-lead vocals, lead guitar), Justin Morrow (rhythm guitar, bass, backing vocals), and Connor S (drums). NIN played songs off of their various a few being “Hell in the Hallways”, “Me, Myself, and Hyde”, “Enjoy Your Slay” , and “The Plot Sickens.”

 

 

Soon after INK set ended main opener Everytime I Die from Buffalo, NY took control of the stage. Everytime I Die was the oldest band there having started in 1998. In the band are Keith Buckley(vocals), Jordan Buckley(lead guitar), Andy Williams(rhythm guitar), Stephen Micciche (bass), and Clayton Holyoak(drums).

This show was very special for the band for it was the only show on the tour that was close to being a hometown show. The bands set was 13 songs long, which was greater than the previous two bands who only played 6-7 songs each. ETID setlist was made of songs from their long history as a band including tracks like “Glitches”, “Bored Stiff”, “Floater”, “Revival Mode” and many more.

To close the show, Motionless in White from Scranton, Pennsylvania took charge of the stage. The band consists of Chris (Motionless) Cerulli (vocals), Ricky (Horror) Olson(rhythm guitar), Devin (Ghost) Sola (bass), Ryan Sitkowski(lead guitar), Vinny Mauro(drums). While they played,  MIW had complete control of the audience engaging in sing alongs, and even handing out free candy during their performance of their song Not My Type.

One thing that made this tour so unique was that aside from a few preset songs the band allowed their fans to pick what songs they wanted to hear from their extensive collection of albums. By doing this each show had a completely different setlist. The band even brought Cerulli’s girlfriend Gaiapatra and Sola’s girlfriend Kylie Devyn on stage to perform a few songs with them including, Rats, Not My Type, America, and their encore song Eternally Yours to name a few. The band’s setlist consisted of eight songs from their latest album Graveyard Shift and the other seven from their various albums. Charnas even made a guest vocal appearance for their song Abigail off of their album Creatures.

The night was filled with crowd surfing, moshing, and an all overall intense feeling. Throughout the duration of the show you could feel the energy of the bands and the audience gave off. Both the bands and the audience fed off of each other in order to create a memorable night that most will never forget.
