On August 11th, the American Punk Rock band, Green Day, announced its plans for Revolution Radio, its 12th studio album.

The official release date for the album was said to be  October 7th. The album is to be released through Reprise Records.  On August 12th, they released the official lyric video for their first single of the album called, “Bang Bang”.

The band’s title track, “Revolution Radio”, was released on September 9th  via lyric video. The same day, Green Day announced that they will be going on North American and European tour in support of the album.

Revolution Radio is the band’s first album since 21st Century Breakdown to be recorded as a trio since guitarist Jason White returned to being only a touring member of the band.

The official music video for their first single “Bang Bang” was released on September 14th.  On September 22nd the third single “Still Breathing” was released to the public via an official lyric video.

Regarding their North American tour, on Sunday, September 18th, Green Day announced that they were postponing their first three shows in St. Louis, Chicago and Detroit.

The band also canceled its show in Toronto that was scheduled for September 23rd. This was due to an illness that affected several members of the band as well as the crew.

On the Billboard website , Green Day states, “We’re so sad to announce we have to postpone three shows and cancel Toronto. Many of us have been battling this infection for days on end to be ready, and it just got the best of us.” However the band adds on that “Tickets will be honored at the St. Louis, Chicago and Detroit concerts when they are rescheduled, or fans can get a refund at their point of purchase.”

After dealing with the illness that struck the band and crew, Green Day officially started the tour September 26th in Columbus, Ohio.

“I’m looking forward to Green Day’s new album. From the looks of it from the new songs they released, they seem to be coming back in a big a way,” anonymous student said.

On the day Revolution Radio was released Green Day put out another lyric video for their song “Youngblood”, and on October 12th Green Day put out the lyric video for their song “Ordinary World”.
